About Viralstreet

Viralstreet is a fun media company at the cutting edge of the commercial viral phenomenon.

Founded in July 2007, Viralstreet positions itself at the heart of the next wave of viral media, that of Commercial Viral Media (CVM).

Viralstreet.com is the primary site for enabling members to produce commercial viral films for money, and companies to benefit from the value those films deliver on a worldwide basis through a viral and scalable Web experience. As more and more people make films, those consumers are becoming the advertising agencies of tomorrow.

If a company likes a film then they can purchase the rights to it. It’s a first-come-first-served operation.

The payments that companies make for the rights to a film, goes to the member who make the films. Companies can also do the red TM thing by paying a non-disclosed sum to Red TM and having a sign-off on their film to show that they did this. Once a company purchases a film, they can then change the film by adding their brand, music, strap lines, voiceovers or anything else, then they can launch the film as a viral and monitor its performance.

Viralstreet is self funded by its two founding partners, Edward Fitzpatrick and Jonathan Rea, they currently serve as joint Chief Executive Officers. The site officially launches 1 December 2007.

Viralstreet is about making film clips that companies want to buy...

Think about it... a company is not going to purchase a film if its content is detrimental to its brand. So, take risks by all means, but all of us know that there’s a line and if you want to make money then simply don’t step over it, (see below). Viralstreet doesn't allow videos with nudity, graphic violence or hate. If you come across anything on the site that is inappropriate like this, please click on flag and submit the form on the following page and Viralstreet will remove it if deemed appropriate to do so. If we remove a video after reviewing it, you can assume that we removed it purposefully, and you should take our warning notification seriously. For more information read our Terms and Conditions. If you find other videos on Viralstreet with the same violations, please report them so we can review them as well! Thanks.

We're not asking you to be saints, just don't abuse the site. Viralstreet requires a certain level of trust from its user base. We trust you to be responsible. We also look forward to inviting you to our first ever Commercial Viral Film Awards in London 2008.

Have fun with the site. There's a lot here to see, and lots of folks making amazing stuff—one of them might be you! Equipment's getting cheaper and easier to use all the time, so dive in and who knows, you can end up making some money!

Don't Cross the Line

Here are some common-sense rules that will help you steer clear of trouble:

  • Viralstreet is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your video, even if it's a video of yourself, don't post it on Viralstreet. Also, be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we report child exploitation. Please read our Safety Tips within our privacy policy and stay safe on Viralstreet.
  • Don't post videos showing bad stuff like animal abuse, drug abuse, or bomb making.
  • Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your video shows someone getting hurt, attacked, or humiliated, don't post it.
  • Viralstreet is not a shock site. Don't post gross-out videos of accidents, dead bodies and similar things.
  • You can use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as famous music tracks or snippets of copyrighted action without their permission. But if a client decides to purchase the rights to that film, then they must also be able to buy the rights to that part of the content which is not yours. This means those rights must not be held by a private individual who the client cannot contact. As a rule of thumb, the more famous, the more likely a client will be able to buy the rights.
  • We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we don't permit hate speech, which is content intended to attack or demean a particular gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnic origin, veteran status, color, age, disability or nationality.
  • There is zero tolerance for predatory behaviour, stalking, threats, harassment, invading privacy, or the revealing of other members' personal information. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from Viralstreet.
  • Everyone hates spam. Do not create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. Promoting your profile page is one thing, but it's not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.
  • Viralstreet is not for people under 13 years of age.

Please take these rules seriously and take them to heart. Don't try to look for loopholes or try to lawyer your way around them—just understand them and try to respect the spirit in which they were created. Violations of the Terms and Conditions may result in a warning notification or may result in termination of your account and deletion of all your videos. We decide whether we believe your violation of our Terms and Conditions should result in termination of your account. If you have an account terminated you are prohibited from ever signing up for another account!
